There are two Sub-division(Agar & Susner) and Four Blocks in the District.

Agar- Agar ia a town with a municipal government in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is the administrative headquarters for the Agar Malwa District which was formed in 2013 from a part of Shajapur District. The town is situated along the IndoreKota SH-27 highway.

          As of 2001 India census, In the 2001 census, Agar had a population of 31,202, where males constituted 51.8% of the population and females 48.2%. In the 2011 census the population had grown to 50,000. Males now constituted 52% of the population and females 48%.

Badod- Badod is a town and a nagar panchayat in Agar Malwa district in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India.

            As of 2001 India census, Badod had a population of 11,764. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Badod has an average literacy rate of 63%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 60% of the males and 40% of females literate. 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Nalkheda- Nalkheda is a town (Tehsil) and a nagar Parishad in Agar Malwa district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Nalkheda is situated on the bank of river Lakhunder.Distance from Indore 160 km, from Ujjain100 km, from Kota, Rajasthan 170 km, from Bhopal 180 km, from Agar 35km, fromShajapur 62 Km by road. It is just 15 km from Aamla Chourha situated between Agar malwa & Susner at the Indore Kota state highway (SH 27).

              As of 2001 India census, Nalkheda had a population of 14,201. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Nalkheda has an average literacy rate of 59%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 68%, and female literacy is 49%. In Nalkheda, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.

                Nalkheda is famous for temple of goddess Bagalamukhi. Lots of devotees come here to worship the goddess.

Susner- Susner is a town and a nagar panchayat and Sub division in Agar Malwa district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.Susner is located at 23.95°N 76.08°E. It has an average elevation of 502 metres (1646 feet).

             As of 2001 India census, Susner had a population of 16,432 . Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Susner has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 64%. In Susner, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.
